About the artist:
Sanaa Salman Malik El-Rawi is an Arabian Iraqi artist, born in Baghdad
and now living and working in Syria. She graduated from the College of
Administration & Economics at Baghdad University and also has a degree
in Plastic Arts from the College of Fine Arts at Baghdad University. She
has also worked in interior design and jewellery design. |
About this work:
The lion and palm are borrowed from the Nineveh palace reliefs carved
for King Ashurbanipal and King Sennacherib in the 7th century BCE during
the final years of the great Assyrian empire. |
